Navy Pier Renovation - Chicago, IL
Evans Construction teamed up with Madison Construction in a joint venture to take on the revitalization project for Chicago's Navy Pier for Phase I which includes the following improvements:
South Arcade Areas: Phase I work includes the reconstruction of the existing South Arcade and a 5,000 SF expansion of the space; a new exterior storefront system with pivoting glass doors/windows; partial demolition and reconstruction of Arcade roof structure; demolition of exiting Grand Staircase from the South Dock to the Pier Park above the Arcade; construction of a new Grand Staircase to Pier Park; interior renovations including new floor and ceiling finishes; demolition of existing interior tenant spaces; construction of shell space for approximately 35,000 SF South Arcade, along with new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to accommodate the new uses. South Dock Area: Phase I work includes the complete replacement of existing paved surfaces and landscaping; replacement of vendor kiosks and covered pavilions; boat kiosks, ramps, and infrastructure; and replacement of lighting and sound systems along the South Dock from the Headhouse to the historic buildings at the east end of Navy Pier, along with addition of new landscaping and utilities. |
